My beds are made sort of the same way, except I hill them and gutter them in
one step with my farmall 140. If I want a seed bed then I will make one pass
with my John Deere mower mounted, belt driven 30 inch tiller. It goes on my
GT mower and can be attached in less than five minutes. This leaves a perfect
bed with no footprints 30 inches wide which I can maintain by passing through
with the tractor during the season to keep the 'gutters' clean. It is tough
and I usually go through one belt a season.
