I wasn't suggesting that the goal wasn't worth pursuing.
But it will only be worth pursuing if the standards exceed the government's.
No problem there.
I haven't heard a good reason to come up with a new 'brand' name. It sounds
like it will open a can of worms and only serve to confuse the public.
"authentic food" sounds kind of silly to me. I think that it will sound
silly to the marketplace as well.
Gee Jay, we live in a country where people believe that Twinkies are a food
group in the USDA pyramid. Rebranding won't have much of an impact on those
folks.
On the other hand, "organic" does have a meaning and has a market.
OK, so certify above government standards and give it a name if you'd like
but let that name include "organic".
Anyway, I'm all for finding a way to keep the 'organic' buying market
informed about the differences in standards.
