Hi Nan,
You might try mixing 1/2 cup pickling lime with 1 gallon of water to spray on all the bugs. Sure works here.
I bought 30 baby chicks from a friend and she threw in a baby duck. Those chicks pecked that poor duck bald-headed. By then, a gosling had hatched so I put it in with it and now the duck is happy. He has a large scab on his head, but he doesn't seem to be bothered by it.
