Depending on where you live timing is everything, in my state we have a
period between July 10-30 where the first generation borer is past and the
second generation dosen't begin till early August, and there is a lull in
earworms till early to mid August giving us a worm free period of almost
three weeks, you need to have black light traps nearby to monitor activity,
we have a state wide network of traps and a weekly reporting service along
with field volunteers to keep us informed day to day on worm activity,
hopefully you live in a state where such services are avaliable...Bob.
