We have wild blackberries (or black raspberries? I never know the
difference) I picked last year and sold them at market for $3.50 a
half-pint. Did this perk up your ears, Marie? This is your new market!
Also sold blackberry pies that went like greased lightening. Unfortunately
a guy came in during the last two weeks and was selling them for $5 a quart
so I had some left-overs both days. Del - please share your vinegar recipe
- it would be perfect for the leftovers!

We are thinking about a nice patch of red raspberries for the future - I
think they sell better that blackberries - but those wild blackberries are
really hard to beat in terms of no weeding, mulching, pruning, etc. I just
get up, put on skin-so-soft, jeans and a long sleeved shirt and head out by
6 a.m. on Friday before market. They have kept nice for market in the
basement in a cooler with the blue ice inserts in the lid (or on the bottom
under a towel).

p.s. on the various shade cloth percentages, I found Peacefully Valley to
have the best description for various useages.
