Hi Joan and all,

I'm about two hours northeast of Kansas City - depending on who you get behind on Highway 6 (it's a two lane).  Sometimes it only takes 1 1/2 hours.  We have gone to that conference for several years - I went by myself a time or two, then hubby got interested. The beds in that hotel were like sleeping on bags of walnuts so want to find a different place to stay next time.  They have very informative sessions,  and their lunches were delicious this time, but I think the best is meeting new people and the wonderful conversations.  Met one fellow from Iowa who is a member of this list.  There was an Amish couple who sells organic veggies at a stand at their home near Excelsior Springs.  They have several children and the mom told me the little kids gather rocks to sell at the stand and sell out every day!  See there?  All you need to market stuff is sweet-faced kids!

I bring wedding cakes to the Kansas City area just about every weekend usually starting in March - hope to bring veggies along with the cakes this summer - and maybe we could meet for lunch sometime.  I am a second degree Reiki and my two younger (20 and 22) children are first degree.  I believe the first degree Reiki is as strong as it ever gets! When we lived in the city, the Reiki group would meet every Friday evening in the Blue Springs area and heal each other.  There is only one other Reiki person near where we live now and I miss the group so much.  I was much healthier back then when eight people would give me healing all at once.  Some of us used to go out to Smithville Lake where they have the wooden Stonehenge things and watch for UFO's.

The people I met at the conference live in Nebraska and they Reiki their gardens and said it made a lot of difference.  I had never thought of doing that but I'm already doing it for this year.  Sometimes I forget I can do it but have done it for the animals.

I too do Reiki although I'm only at level one with not enough time to
practice but you are right it does go hand in hand with our beliefs and
practices.  I almost went up to that conference but didn't want to drive by
myself so skipped it.  Now I'm sorry - I'd have enjoyed meeting you.  How
far are you from KC?  We are 45 miles southwest of KC just off of I-35.
