>"The End of Agriculture in the American Portfolio" by Steven Blank (ISBN:

agriculture.

Sadly, this train has landed in Washington, D.C. I had a conversation with a
grower from Michigan this Winter. He earlier attended a town hall meeting
where his local Representative shared the view that we can purchase food
overseas cheaper than we can produce it. His Representative thought he
should get a better paying job.
I've heard the same thoughts attributed to V.P. Gore. Though I can't
verify it, the fact that my farmer contact had a U.S. Representative tell
him the same thing suggests that it is not an uncommon thought in
Washington, D.C.
Any similar experiences out there?
