The only reason they look for worms, insects, etc. is the fact that it's an
easy "visual", means the food is "alive". It doesn't mean that if there
are no worms, etc., that it has been chemically treated, just makes their
job a little harder.

If he didn't believe you, he's not a good extension agent as there are many
"natural chemicals" within the organic world that can repel insects without
altering the food.

I'll take the "ugly" produce that has swarms of gnats, flies, brown spots,
misshappen shapes, etc., versus the grocery store produce that has been so
"artificially chemical" treated that no living thing can survive! Live
food equals live bodies!
