There is definitely a problem with installing lyceum on localhost.
It would be nice to have a fix for it as many of us work offline before comitting changes to online website.
First of all, I should disable the write permission check in the install script because it will stop dead otherwise. No matter, how I manipulate the permissions (Windows XP, XAMPP). But it may just be for me.
It is stated that in the config.php the MAINDOMAIN cannot be "localhost".
It will not work with "127.0.0.1" either but it will work with "localhost" in Opera and only in Opera.
That is my only chance to get into administration.
The cause of this is perhaps different handling of cookies but it is beyond me.
I use lyceum in a single directory as previously discussed already and I confirm that it works fine.
What I still find as trouble that some plugins and themes will not work with lyceum and there are some navigational problems (like previous/next links), as well.
I suppose, the original themes and plugins cannot handle that there should be a blog id, as well.
Could this be fixed or is there a quick, temporary solution ?
As a forum solution, I wholeheartedly could suggest RS-Discuss
http://www.sargant.com/blog/wordpress-plugins/rs-discuss
It beautifully integrates into Wordpress and a breeze to install except that it suffers from the above mentioned compatibility problems.
I think, it should be solved in the first place as migration from wordpress to lyceum depends mostly on how easily we can port themes and plugins.
