Jokin- thanks for writing in. Try out the new nightly, there have been many fixes since 0.22. Let us know if you have any problems.

Hi John,

I didn't notice about this option in wp-config.php file. I change it
from "true" to "false" and the tables were created succesfully. But I'm
still having problems.

If I try to log into my blog for the first time
(http://localhost/src/lyceum/wp-login.php) y write my username (admin)
and my password on the login box but I get "Page not found" message from
the browser.

I've suposed that maybe I have to configure first system options from
the control panel so when I try to do this I get the next message:

=======================================================================
Warning: require_once(admin.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open
stream: No such file or directory in
C:\Zerbitzaria\WEB\src\lyceum\system-config.php on line 8

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required
'admin.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in
C:\Zerbitzaria\WEB\src\lyceum\system-config.php on line 8
=======================================================================

I've noticed that in the line 8 of this file there is a call to
admin.php. As this file is in wp-admin, I have modify system-config.php
introducing the admin.php file path manually. So this has fixed the
problem.

Finally, I've been trying creating a blog from the blog-management site.
I write the username of the administrator of the new blog. Clicking on
the address the system's gives me I get a "This blog does not exist or
has been deactivated." message. But I can activate no blog from the Blog
Activation option.

So I have no way to reach to any blog, neither from the first login
option nor creating any new blog. Any idea about what I did wrong? How
can I reach to the admin's blog?

Thanks

John,

Are you aware of these additional issues when setting up subdomain
support?

Ben (cc:ed) has notified me that after configuring subdomain support
with
the latest build .22 (clean install):

- No options can be changed
- Requesting sender referrer

When attempting subdomain support with the latest nightly, there is no
permission to access page when logged in.

Looking forward to your insight!

Thanks for your feedback. If you get a chance write a report to
lyceum-bugs AT lists DOT ibiblio DOT org, and include as many details as

possible. Which options are you referring to-- system options, or
options
for a particular blog?

Also, if you do get a chance, try out a recent nightly.

Hello

I am the net administrator of a High School, near San Sebastian (Spain).
We?re trying to install Lyceum 0.22 on a server from our intranet. We
want to use Lyceum as a multiblog/nultiuser system creating a private
blog for each teacher in our school. This is the server configuration:

- Windows XP-SP2

- Apache HTTP server 2.0.55

- PHP 5.1.2

- MySQL 4.0.26

I download the latest version of Lyceum this monday. When I try to
install it, typing http://localhost/src/lyceum/wp-admin/install.php in
my browser I get the next message:

"must be writable by the webserver"

I don't understand what it means. What am I doing wrong?. What must I do
to fix this problem?

Thank you (Sorry for my bad english ;-) )

I just asked the same question a couple days ago. My solution was to
untar the files directly in the location where they are going to reside
on the webserver. If you copy the folder, or even use an scp you run the

risk of losing some hidden files (at least that's what appeared to be
the problem).
The other problem can be if you are using a windows server, and don't
have a \tmp folder.
Hope that helps,
Shane

I think that maybe be the problem here. You mentioned your server was
running windows. note this line in wp-config.php:

//log files
define('USELOGS', true);
//If you are having problems installing on windows, make this 'false'

let us know how it goes.

Hi -

I originally reported this as a bug but was asked to write it to
the list. I am working on a Solaris 8 system with Apache 1.3 something.
I
unpack lyceum in /opt, so I have

/opt/lyceum_0.22

I then set up a web server with document root of

/opt/lyceum_0.22/src/lyceum

Once I go through the installation, when I try to log in I
am referred to /login, /profile, etc. but these do not exist.

I was told that it was a problem with

/opt/lyceum_0.22/src/lyceum/.htaccess not existing, but it is
there, and looks like this:

========================================================================
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

RewriteRule ^profile/?
wp-admin/profile.php?b=system&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteRule ^login/? wp-login.php?%{QUERY_STRING} [L]
RewriteRule ^register/? wp-register.php?%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

RewriteRule ^([A-Za-z0-9_-]+)/admin/?$ wp-admin/index.php?b=$1&
RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/admin/?([^/]+php)\??(.*)
wp-admin/$2?b=$1&%{QUERY_STRING} [L]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

### do we need these two conditions? ###
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(.+)/admin(.*)
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^(.+)/index.php(.*)

RewriteRule ^([A-Za-z0-9_-]*)/? /index.php?b=$1 [L,QSA]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

========================================================================
====================

Apache does have mod_rewrite, so I am at a loss.

By the way, the lyceum_nightly does not include an .htaccess
file.

Garey-

Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't know what the problem could
be. mod_rewrite is all that should be needed for that functionality to
work. Can you give us any more info? Are you sure you followed the
instructions in Installation.txt closely? (I'm sure you did, but it
doesn't hurt to double check).

You can also look in apache's rewrite log. Let me know if you can't
figure
out how to do that.

Does anyone on the list have any experience with Solaris and have any
idea
what the problem could be?

If you can think of any more details, let us know.

By the way, the lyceum_nightly does not include an .htaccess file.

Lyceum generates a custom .htaccess for each installation, so the file
is
not included in the source distribution.

John -

I found the problem. The Apache directive

AllowOverride all

has to be included in the Directory section of the apache config file.
For
some reason mine was set to AllowOverride none. Nothing was reported in
the error logs because, with AllowOverride none, any directives in
.htaccess files are ignored. So it wasn't a Solaris problem at all
