In our system federal law, including courts, trumps state & local of course. Whether the feds want to enforce it may depend on popular opinion, like with pot legalizing etc. Certain powers are given to each level of government and interpreted by the courts. Controversial of course. Democracy is basically majority rule. I believe Churchill said it's the worst system except for all the others.

In practice, a patchwork of conflicting local laws can also be too confusing and impractical. Where laws don't apply we can do as we please, but we can't be free to ignore every law we disagree with. That's a definition of anarchy where raw power rules. For example commerce and industry can't exist without the Uniform Commercial Code and courts to settle differences.

As for any kind of milk, I don't think milk made for growing 1,000 lb calves is good for people in the first place. My view is if you don't like something then opt out if it's feasible. YMMV

They like to raid the farmers, of course.  Steal and destroy and hopefully put them out of business.
FDA has their own swat teams now.

That'll be a pretty 'progressive' town down there, more prone to sit-ins than shoot outs.
We were wondering if home rule could be applied to gun laws, which would probably horrify them.
Freedom's freedom.  Something the "wings" seem to apply disparately.

I've contacted them for a draft of the ordinance and I'll look into our home rule law when I get the chance.
