That cow poop comes out of anaerobic tanks Liz. Our government in Ireland has been pushing us in that direction as well because it is more efficient. Meaning you need big machines to manipulate that liquid slurry.
Our cow manure does not stink at all, NOT AT ALL, we pike it out of a stable into a wheelbarrow and spread it by hand since it is almost completely solid. There used to be machines to spread this stuff but I have not seen one for years.
If the tractors should stop because of rising oil prices there is no way to use that slurry. One can always work and use the not smelly solids.

Around here (southwest Virginia), you can smell cow poop on the wind at regular intervals, and you know one or another of the farmers has "manured" his fields. It's taken for granted. I'm glad that it's starting to be noticed in other areas too.
