I read somewhere that stir fry and the wok were invented by the Mongolians
and came about because of limited firewood supplies. They had to build small,
hot and fast fires from the small diameter combustibles that were available.
Adaptation to a dry environment. Perhaps this is a tool of the future for
many people...
