Title: Re: [Livingontheland] Farming methods - no till and others
Does he like counting? Sowing seeds might be something he would especially enjoy. Placing the seeds at a specific depth and spacing is a repetitive process, then waiting a certain number of days to germination, and more days to first harvest.

What does he like to eat? That would be my first choice of what to plant.

My garden is organic no-till. I use lots of homemade compost, no fertilizer, and lots of mulch. For new seedbeds, I use row cover to keep the squirrels and birds from digging up the seeds.

I am a new member with an autistic son who is 12.  I am exploring different vegetable farming methods to see which my son is interested in and also which methods lend themselves to his functioning level.  He loves watering things and tasks that have a definite endpoint work well for him.   I am planning several different types of gardens on small scales this year.  In addition to our tilled garden, I will add a square foot and lasagna garden.   Any advice is welcomed and I was just wondering what methods people on this list are doing and maybe some of you have compared/tried different methods and I could learn what worked for you and why.  Thanks!
