I plant my plants on center whatever the inrow spacing is in the bed. Works for me. I am a square foot gardening kind of gal at least in spacing. I dont do the offset like Jeavons does but do it in grid like Bartholomew.

So how do you work out the planting spacing/density in beds particularly for
small plants like carrots etc? I've always planted in rows following
standard spacing. All this talk of planning has me thinking about our garden
at Piedras Blancas.
