Pretty chilly here - was about 19 degrees with the wind chill this morning - not very cold to some folks I know:o) We are expecting quite a bit of snow for our area and I am itchy for the 3 weeks of dry warm weather that we get in February. I have a bunch of does due in the next few weeks and am not quite prepared for it but hopefully will be by the end of the week.

I am sending samples out to aglabs next week and in February will amend my fields to improve my pastures for my grazing stock. Working on the asperagus bed as well as the new garden beds that I will start to plant as soon as we harvest the roos that are about 6 months old now (dark cornish and light brahama). They have done a good job of fertilizing the lawn and will feed us for the next few months very very richly.

I too have enjoyed the potato stories and am always amazed at how little folks know about food. I cant imagine choosing to work in an office over working on the land myself but sometimes when the snow is blowing sideways as I take the winter hay to the sheep (this because my fields are not good enough) I think about the warm wood stove and a cup of cocoa and that gets me by til I can get back inside.

Looking towards next year being even more bountiful then this one.

These last few days have been quite a rush on this list. I hope the 488
subscribers have been duly entertained and not too frustrated with all the
posts. Maybe it's the holiday time off or cold days when we can't get out
much. Hasn't been above freezing here today and this is all that's keeping
me from cabin fever ;-) I got a kick out of the potato stories, can't wait
to show Barb.

Our best to everyone out there and I hope you're warmer than we are.
