To make this related to this listserve - here is a
link to an ev tractor:o) - http://www.flyingbeet.com/electricg/
If folks are intersted I'll try to find the link to the research showing that
even if you used a coal fired grid (not recommended LOL) you would still be much
better off with all the cars plugged in. I think it may be on Cal cars but
I would have dig a little bit to find it.
Also the city of Berkley California - always ahead
of the times - is voting on offering 20 year loans for solar conversions for
anyone in the city. The payments would be about the same as their current
electric bills. I have always thought that small grid tied solar would be
the difference that makes the difference in urban situations. No need for
nuke plants if the houses are making the power for the grid:o)
Here is a list of good ev conversion
links:
http://www.acpropulsion.com/ -
these folks make a very nice AC propulsion system.
http://www.autobloggreen.com/2007/03/19/zap-releases-details-and-drawings-of-their-impending-644-horsepo -
not in production yet but it looks like a goody if they get there. For the
wealthier folks though - that whole $60,000 price tag is a bear LOL
http://www.ev-blue.com/ - these
folks do ev conversions and sell parts
http://www.evdl.org/ - this is
the home of the edvl discussion list. These guys know their stuff.
Highly recommended if you are interested in EV.
http://www.flyingbeet.com/electricg/ - cool ev conversion on a
tractor
http://www.wrightspeed.com/ -
these guys are building a high end sporty car in the same league as lamborghini
and porsche. They use the propulsion system from
ACPropulsion.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqqtJpfZElQ - here is a utube
video of the wrightspeed prototype
http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/ - here is the photo album for
AustinEV. Lots and lots of conversions. Some really cool and some
maybe not so cool. There information sections are excellent if a little
outdated. Look at the ev resources up at the top and open the link to
building an EV. Pretty good and thorough.

systems
http://www.electroauto.com/ -
these guys have some conversion kits
