I have 4 acres, with only 1 devoted to "farming"
(native trees, really), but I'm working to make a microfarm out of it by placing
raised beds (my "soil" is only 6" deep, over limestone) wherever there is
room. My pertinent point is that five acres seems
HUGE. I don't know how you'd use all that land
unless you use row crops. At this point "One acre and
independence" sounds more like it.
