I'm probably opening myself up to a few flames here but I'm trying to be less of a lurker.
Honestly, if someone wants to look into my bag of stuff I just bought from the store I'm indifferent. I understand it's my right to refuse but it doesn't feel like a battle I want to fight. They're probably doing it to try to reduce shrink and if they're polite about it and ask everyone to avoid discrimination, fine.
I realize this is a privacy slippery slope but it feels like a really loose case. The distance between Best Buy looking in my bag and someone peeking in my medical records seems pretty wide. Maybe the control is good. I don't know if I'd complain that loud if they said I had to show them though.
Tom
