for some recent news stories about VISA cardholder problems:
"Someone got into the database of a nationwide store chain, although Visa won't say what store. ..."

I thought that was old news but it may be a huge crime-in-progress.....   ~B

My partner had something a little different happen on Friday 3/1. Someone
used her Wachovia ATM Visa debit card at an ATM in CA and did a balance
inquiry and then withdrew all cash from the account. She noticed this Sat
while checking her account online. She of course still has her card and we
thought was "skimmed" but perhaps that is not how "they" got the account
number and PIN. Two other people she works with in a small workplace had
similar experiences. The Wachovia manager in Durham told her that there
have been 3-4 other fraudulent reports at her branch recently which is
unusual.
