Works fine, I'm pretty positive they're the same thing.

I've been doing it for a few years now, got rid of VCR, took 3 of the 4 cables and hooked them to the HDTV from the HD Cable box.

No issues.

I'm betting that's why everything went digital, so they could increase the cable profit margin ;)
