I like to be helpful. Don't conservatives believe that people fill
the roles you give them. If you assign intellectual arrogance to us
we'll be intellectually arrogant just like when you try to help poor
mothers feed their children it will make them crack whores. We can
call it intellectual welfare if you want.
I do hope that you understand that I'm being fairly sarchastic. The
only reason I quote Boethius is because The Consolation of Philosophy
seemed appropriate as it deals specifically with how pilosophy can
console us when we see the world being run by idiots and asses.
"It is hardly surprising if we are driven by the blasts of storms when
our chief aim on this sea of life is to displease wicked men. And
though their numbers are great, we can afford to despise them because
they have no one to lead them and are carried along only by ignorance"
You see I'm really being more morally arrogant than anything.
