So, I NEVER post to this list, but the heterosexual pride
parade intrigued me.
Basically, the way that I see this is that it's silly, but
harmless. Kind of like having a "White Pride" parade as
long as it's not KKK or something. If a bunch of regular,
non-bigoted white people went out and paraded, it would be
silly because our whole culture is dominated by the white
majority.
Similarly, heterosexually dominates our culture. It's
totally socially acceptable to talk about your spouse,
wedding, whatever in the workplace, but unfortunately, gays
and lesbians often don't feel as comfortable talking about
their romantic lives in the workplace or in other public
areas. SO, they have pride parades to say "Hey! I'm not
ashamed to be gay!" Totally cool and I respect it.
Heterosexuality parades are just silly and REDUNDANT.
Almost on par with having a carbon based lifeform pride
parade. Hey man! I'm made out of carbon! So am I! Cool!
So, while G105 is inane, let's not get upset by silly,
ignorant people. Let them have their redundant, irrelevant
parade.
Ciao!
