Here is my problem. It seems more often than not, a member of a particular party or those who lean in a particular direction wear blinders to the activities of that party.
And by that I specifically refer to almost any discussion of the economy or of corporate scandal that has taken place here where it is instantly blamed on the republican administration regardless of fact or reality. These same individuals blamed Bush 41 for the economic downturn at the outset of the first Clinton administration, but now don’t want Clinton blamed for the economic downturn at the start of the Bush 43 administration. The truth, as I tried to document it earlier, is that economic downturns take years to come into being and years to exit.
And I'm not for Bush. I want to see him go. But blindly following any party or politician is how we get into these messes.
With that said, here are the stats on Enron's political campaign contributions where you can see that they were very slanted toward the Republican party from 1996 onward.
