Speaking for "the media" (...and lord knows I don't want to defend the media) the story certainly wasn't the room noise, so they'd mix that out. John Kerry knows this stuff. It's the reason we see the Kerry caution persona. I had the sense that the media was scared of this Dean guy & didn't want him. ...no blessing of Dean from the collective. No, no way!

Thomas is right, this is what it took to pierce the "Teflon" veil. I like it when this happens.
In "Almost Famous" the Cameron Crowe character says that "the only currency is the things we say in the moments when we're not being cool."

room noise that included LOTS of loud supporters being riled up by a rousing speech and shouting out more states for him to call out...

damn press...ruined the only candidate that could've won the presidency...
