This is a problem with
(1)microcultures: people in the loop fall prey to the Us vs. Them mentality
and
(2)technology: people in the loop can't comprehend why everyone else
doesn't share the same level of knowledge or expertise.

I'd be just as irked by such an event. I *have* been irked by one; my
sister forwarded something to me, and my rash response was to email the
whole list telling them to thank my sister for giving me their addresses.

But after you calm down and think about it, you'll realize that
(a)obviously it hadn't bothered anyone else or they would've done
something about it -- erase the email addresses or send a nasty message to
them all -- and (b)the ubiquity of a technology does not guarantee
expertise in its use.

Better to have written a polite message, including a link to some sort of
Miss e-Manners and explaining that in some circles it is considered rude
to leave the full headers and previous replies in a forwarded message.

...* yeah, I know some of you might be thinking "tolerance from Alan?"
It happens sometimes. The sedatives must be kicking in...

$0.02 & peace,
Alan
