Hi folks,

To further bring the list off-topic O:-) I'm wondering if anyone
has any suggestions about an auto-repair place that might be able
to weld a cracked exhaust pipe. It appears that a metal rod sticking
up out of one of those concrete stops in parking lots may have
caused the y-pipe to the catalytic converter on my 1998 subaru
legacy to crack (the pipe is c. The dealer wants almost $500 to replace it,
but
a good friend of mine who's an auto mechanic (and sadly out of
state, or I'd take it to him) suggested I try to weld it instead
of replacing it. I already called Al's Garage in Chapel Hill,
but they don't do any welding. They suggested Chapel Hill Tire
in Cole Park Plaza, but being as I now work in Raleigh these days
I was wondering if there might not be some place closer to that.

Thanks much in advance,
Tanner Lovelace
