Scott,

Thanks! I really like the looks of fastmail.fm

But I'm going with myway.com, at least for now. At first I didn't like the
idea of using a portal, I thought I just wanted a free e-mail site, but I
changed my mind.

I've been teaching Exploring the Internet using rtpnet.org as the home
page. That really restricts the usefulness of the handout to just the
Triangle area. So, at least for this revision, I'm going to use myway.com
as the home page, as well as for e-mail.

Most community technology centers seem to be teaching Hotmail or Yahoo
mail. Compare:

http://privacy.yahoo.com/
http://info.myway.com/index/id/privacy.html

MyWay registration is simple and clean. First name, username, password and
zip. I don't think zip is required.

Two things I particularly disliked about Hotmail were:

1. We'd spend the entire class time setting up accounts. Many people who
take my classes can't type and filling out forms with dropdown menus, etc.
etc. takes a LOT of time. When they finally get done, they don't know
what their id is or their password.

2. I was essentially asking them to sign an agreement without reading it
because the agreement was SOOOO long and mostly in CAPS.

MyWay's Help is not particularly good, and the site seems to only be in
English. Hopefully, those areas will improve.
