I've found that the best way to fly is with earplugs. No crying babies, drunk assholes or loud headphones bug me, plus I don't have to have conversations with people. It makes it a bit hard when ordering drinks, but I highly recommend them. Airplanes are completely full of noise pollution, causing irritability.

Basically, I don't have a problem with airlines offering services such as the one described. I doubt I would ever take advantage, though, unless flying to Japan. I generally try to avoid my computer when not having to actually work on it. It always seems odd to me when people pull out their computers on airplanes...isn't a little forced downtime nice? It's not like your boss can tell you are working, and will approve.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I was on a flight recently where someone actually smoked in the restroom! I honestly couldn't believe someone could be that stupid.

so how do you achieve "quiet time" when the dork next to you is streaming and giggling to "Shake Shake Shake your booty?" oh, they are wearing headphones.
