Yeah, it's kind of baffling. We used to have light rail all over the
country and in almost every city.

You guys all do know about how the automakers (General Motors, mainly)
conspired in the post-WW2 era to purchase and then destroy most of the
light-rail and cable car systems in major urban areas all across the US,
right? And how they were found guilty of this conspiracy in court and
fined....$5000?
And that LA used to have one of the best, most comprehensive and
widespread systems of light rail public transportation in the world?
Until GM ripped it all out?
It's all about the profit, people.
