Is anyone else going to see The Two Towers on opening day?

Nope. I don't go to the movies anymore. I wait until Blockbuster takes a movie out of rental circulation and offers it as a pre-viewed DVD and snap it up cheap. That way it is not recorded as a sale by the MPAA.

Until the MPAA and RIAA stop treating their customers as enemies, I'm going out of my way to adjust my entertainment habits. No movie theaters, no buying DVD's new. As for music, I've only bought from independent non-RIAA labels the last few years.

TLotR:FotR left an especially bad taste in my mouth for releasing an extended DVD shortly after the standard one, which is also working against their customers.

Sometimes it is a little hard being a geek and not seeing the new geek films when they come out in the theaters, but I don't really care to send the MPAA big bucks to stomp on my rights as a consumer.
