You must have just recently become sensitive to it. Those ads have been
around in one form or another for quite sometime. However, we could make a
point that their frequency of airing them is tied to consumers ability to
pay credit card debt. People using their houses as a last resort to payoff
debt.

Side note: Credit Card lenders profit margins traditionally have come from
consumers paying minimum payments on high debt. Profit margins have
decreased due to the consumer defaulting and others paying in full. More and
more lenders are selling accounts other companies. If you have a rate 0f
9.5% your company can sell your acct. to another. They in turn can increase
your rate to 25% take it or leave it. If you leave you are still responsible
for the debt now @ 25%. Ouch!
