Actualy, Dave is quite right. If you remove all the poetry used by our very
own Dave The Bard, you'll get good information.

Let's do some content research:

- Rebooting a *nix system is a pure act of evilness. Not even the Dark
Emperor would ever have thought of rebooting his servers.

Yes, almost all maintenance to be done on a Unix system, does **not** need a
reboot nor a shutdown. Restarting the affected daemon will be enough and
plenty. Remember, Unix servers run more than one task at a time: don't let
your users down!

uptime = saved $$$

And, more important, sometimes a Unix server has some hosts, routes... added
"on-the-fly" that never had been added to the init & configuration files.
That is, there's a good chance that rebooting can ruin your (current)
firewall rules, forget nfs mounts/paths and create havoc to your network

See, even if crack uis cheap those days, Dave offered us the truth. Let's
praise Dave for his crack-deale^H^H^H^H^H inspiration !
