Now, you have to trust these people with your data, but that's actually a blessing. How often do typical computer users, even knowledgable ones, back up their PC's? Using a service provider to store your docs and spreadsheets and financial software is actually a great idea.

On the subject of online financial software, I really like www.yahoo.com's financial services. It automatically handles budget tracking, using its settings to put every check and credit card into the right budget category. It pretty much did everything that Quicken purports to do, but with much less effort. The bill pay and cash flow analysis tools are great too.

One of the nice benefits of using Yahoo is it works on every browser and platform. Now I don't have to have a Windows machine at home, and instead can use Konquerer/KDE on RedHat.
