A good WWI site:

Watch some TV about World War I
this afternoon, which convinced
me of a couple of things:

* Waiting too long to to go after
an evil aggressor (Germany) can
allow the aggressor to get too
strong and harder to eradicate
(Wilson waited years to address
the conflict).

* The conflict really didn't
end until 1994, when the last
Russian troops left Europe.

* The punitive measures levelled
against Germany lead to an atmosphere
that generated the Nazis and Hitler.

* This was a new kind of war that
wasn't understood -- and saw 10
million lives lost.
