Wouldn't it be awful if people were to write software that sent a rapid stream of initial SYNs and ICMP echo requests to the target sites for smart tags until microsoft added the host name and destination port to an opt-out file on their web site. :-)

Smart tags sound a lot like the old idea of annotation servers that date back all the way to CERN. Seemed a lot less threatening then...
