For one thing, those of us who are already here in Raleigh and don't whine
about having to drive to Chapel Hill or Durham :).

As for Player's Retreat, it's actually a nice place, although its
appearance can be a bit foreboding. I read one sensationalistic review of
Player's Retreat (probably around 1984) that read "This looks like the
kind of place where they check you for a knife and gun at the door, and if
you're not carrying, issue you one of each."
Seriously, it's a nice place, the pool tables are good even if you [1]
aren't :), and the burgers are delicious. The beer selection is decent,
and it's cold.
[1] the "you" is indeterminate and nonspecific.
