It is kind of easy right now, though. He can denounce bonuses, but at
the same time propose a 819 billion dollar bailout which we all know is
mostly going for executive bonuses and other non-essential crap that
should have been cut by the requesting corporations years ago. I hope
you are right that the new money will be better managed, but I am just
not as optimistic, as you can see.
I said months ago that we are in a long, slow, torturous decline and
that we aren't 'learning anything' from the pain. I think it would be
better to just allow these industries to fall flat and then rebuild from
the ground up-start over from scratch. I think, in the long run, that
will be the quickest, least traumatic recovery...like ripping off the
bandaid instead of slowly pulling it off..much faster and initially more
painful, but then, all is well.
