Thanks!

Our main trees here are oaks and "cedar" which are really Juniperus asheii. I used to take shots for four years which was expensive, painful, and time consuming. Now I just swallow one fresh berry each week with a glass of water just like a pill from September through cedar fever season, sometime around February and I am absolutely fine. Although I don't chew them they seem to taste sweeter as the months go by. I had a friend that chewed one up each week and had the same effective response. I do not know if it will work with dried berries. My thought is this is not much different than homeopathics, or the shots, where you introducing a small amount of the culprit and are giving your body a way to build up antigens.

Also, for arthritis pain...do you have Broomweed available to you? It grows like a weed around here and I make a tea and bath with it to alleviate muscle pain. It helps about 80% of all people and is rather pleasant tasting. The Hispanics cal it Escoba de la Vibora or Snake weed (Gutierrezia spp.) I pick the entire plant while blooming and hang it upside down to dry, then chop it up in an old food processor.

As for mosquitos, we have one of the biggest bat populations in the world. But we have native Horsemint (Monarda or Bee Balm) blooming in the summer and just break off a piece and rub that on our skin and they stay away.

Really? I did not realize you could just eat them like that.
I have all kinds of allergies, and they are just getting worse.
There is a hotel in town that is landscaped with junipers.  Everytime I
pass by there, I park and collect berries.  I have about a quart of
dried berries.   People think I am nuts.  I actually have never used
them, but I know they are potent medicine.  I had a cream once, made of
cucumbers and juniper berries that kept mosquitoes away.  No one knows
what is in Skin So Soft, but my guess would be juniper berries.
If this in any way might help my allergies, I'll do it in a heartbeat.
I'll check the bushes while I am in town.   Who knows, perhaps it will
help with my swollen fingers, too.  Thanks Sage, and although I did not
say it in the other thread, I am amazed at what you guys are doing out
there.  Great going...

That's probably it. I start about now swallowing whole juniper
berries once a week so that I don't get "cedar fever" in the winter.
It sure beats shots and is absolutely free. Only they are harder to
find after a drought.
