The thing is, RFIDs are not indestructible. You have several choices in how to put them out of business.
1) Nuke the little suckers for 5 seconds on high. Of course, if they are in clothing one should be careful of possible fire danger. I'd suggest wet clothing.
2) Pierce the chip with a knife.
3) If you can locate the chip and figure out which end is up, you can cut the antenna.
OR, the easiest and most effective without showing evidence that you've been naughty to, say for example, your passport,
4) Smack the little sucker with a hammer!
Ah, I wouldn't, of course, recommend any of the above for chipped humans or animals <g>

Imagine walking in a store, the tag reader at the door knows where
you bought your underwear, when you bought them & what size/type they
are. Same for all the rest of your under garments, pants, shoes etc.
The piece I read talked about using all this information to customize
advertisement for you specifically. I could see other uses too, so
could (I imagine) George Orwell.
