I made it to the Flying J in Winslow AZ. Looking at my plans I see that I
expected to make only Kingman on the first day. That was when I planned to
leave around 10 AM but I left around 3-4 AM. The road from Kingman to
Winslow is up and down with at least one 7000' pass and several 6000'. A
long slow crawl up one side and a fast slide down the other. Down to 30 mph
at times on the way up. I thought it was killing my gas mileage but I got
the best of the day.

On one grade just before the crest there was a large wooden support right in
the middle of the lane. I had to cut off a truck behind me but when he saw
the reason he waved and not with a one finger salute. Another time they road
was down to one lane for repairs. I was in the correct lane when a car shot
around me, just barely missing the orange cones. Suddenly he saw a truck in
front of him and hit the brakes. I am very glad my pickup choose yesterday
for the brake booster to fail and not that moment

Time for a bit of supper and some sleep.

Our deer *are* afraid of the cats. Funniest thing you ever saw. The cats
aren't paying any attention to the deer, simply doing their thing trying to
find Mickey or Minnie for lunch and when they pounce, the deer take off for
parts unknown.

We do have the queen beeoutch of all time, Kahlua a tortie point Siamese.
She even does whoop arse on the raccoons. As DH says, she has tude!
