A year or so ago, there was a piece of property in southern Missouri I was
very interested in, enough that I went back three times to look at it.
There were quite a few Amish in the area, which I thought was a plus. On
the last visit, a young Amish boy was driving past and my brother and I
greeted him. After a few minutes chatting, it turned out his family was
moving (along with a few others), I think he'd said to Kansas, where the
land prices were supposed to be reasonable. The property they owned down
the road was being sold to developers for some type of housing complex.
