Gray pine (aka digger pine) aren't long lived, fast growing and decompose real fast. Ponderosa pine shed like crazy and leave a carpet of needles but they don't break down all that fast. Redwoods are relatively fast growing and, believe it or not, will grow most anywhere with a little help and, again, shed like crazy. What they shed breaks down pretty fast and also leaches into the soil more quickly than other evergreens.

Pin oak and sawtooth oak are real fast growing, however, for the acid you want tanoak.

As an aside, if you live in a region where the soils are really
alkaline, the easiest, long term way to amend the soil is to plant
evergreen trees, especially pines and maybe certain oaks, dependent on
your zone.
