How about a farm collie or a Border Collie?
We had a bc which not only guarded the livestock but would attack any
strange dogs which came on the property. She would run at them, switch
direction at the last second and hit them with her side, usually bowling
them over, and then she was at their throat before they could get up.
She was good with cows, horses, and chickens. There was a tendency, if we
were trying to move the horses in the direction they didn't think they
needed to go, for Hot Dog (the bc) to grab their tails and pull. They would
attempt to kick her but she was pulling down on their rumps so they had
difficulty getting a powerful kick off and she was able to dodge.

She, being a not-neutered female, did not stray. We DID have some puppies
to deal with occasionally. We sorely miss Hot Dog and say if we ever get
another dog (we currently are down to one Lab-type which a former tenant
abandoned), it will be another Border Collie.
