My barn is an open shed, really, and was constructed with railroad ties
for support beams on the outside supports and with telephone poles on
the interior. The old coop was on the outside wing and therefore the
fencing was stapled and battened to the RR ties.
The staples are easy to pull out once I get to them, it's the battens
that are requiring the muscle to remove. The old coop is more like a
small room 18x9x9 with chicken wire all the way around and on the top.
I've got an assortment of tools out there, one of them sounds very much
like your fencing tool. :)

Bev, who has decided that it is too wet to do much except pick up the
debris already generated.
