one's value system on the earth, but stick to the tried-and-true values
of clean air, clean water, and a verdant landscape.

Examine the recently discussed Kudzu and the Tamarisk tree in the southwest deserts. Introduction of non native species is not to be taken lightely.

Especially one that apparently will grow anywhere under the most
adverse conditions. We don't have kudzu in central Illinois but we
have multiflora rose. It was originally used as a hedge but spread
into places where it was hard to kill -- swamp, for example -- where
it made an impenetrable barrier to most moving creatrues bigger than a
possum.

My mother, who generally would not use any herbicide at all, was
inspired to use one that is now banned (sorry, my CRS has wiped the
name out of the accessible parts of my brain) that wiped out a bunch
of the rose but also most of a persimmon grove.
