Paul writes:
<<I cannot believe the absurdity of blaming Christianity for the perverts
who claim to be in it's following, or go by it's name. There are liars and
perverts in every institution there is, especially including the secular.>>
How does the poor pilgrim, looking for a spiritual home, identify the
perverts and distinguish them from the righteous? Is Osama bin Ladin a
pervert, or does he -- as he claims -- hold fast to the basic principles of
Islam? Are Jenkins & LaHaye true Christians, or are they -- in the grand
tradition of end-of-world evangelists -- cynically raking in the dough.
<<The message of Christianity is to love God, and to love your neighbor. Do
not steal, or lie or covet or cheat. What more could make a decent
life/society than those principles? Yet, unlearned people mock the entire
concepts of Christianity, by hiding behind the works of the motley who
disgrace and shame the truths of the truths.>>
I'd wager, if I had anything to wager, that all successful societies have
sanctions for stealing, lying, and cheating. Loving your neighbor is a
distinctly Christian approach to human relations, and it's had a hard go
against thousands of years of established custom and law. This is not to say
that we don't have people in our midst who actually practice that virtue,
but I find them to be rare -- and when I find them, I treasure them.
<<All of you who despise Christianity will someday be glad when the
Christians and the messages of God through them will be gone, because it
WILL happen, according to the scriptures themselves. But then, you shall
only have the Devil to deal with, and he has no mercy for you. Then you will
beg for their return, and the return of the Word, but it won't happen.>>
Ah, you are a LaHaye acolyte?
