When we were showing horses we logged about 35,000 miles during the show
season. That would be me, half a dozen kids and 5 horses AND two very
protective dogs (1 Dobie, 1 Aussie). The Dobie went with the kids
everywhere and the Aussie did guard duty with the truck. When you are on
the show circuit you end up in some really creepy places and when you
consider that counting what the kids wore (minimum $500 in silver per kid)
and what the horses wore (averaged about $4,000 in silver and custom made
tack per horse), we had a mini-Fort Knox with us, you definitely need guard
power!

You can go just about anywhere with a dog. Even folks that think stealing
is easy money and folks that think they are big and bad tend to shy away
from a dog.
