It so happens that I was down in Texas in late April
and made a special trip to Brenham, TX, to visit the
Antique Rose Emporium.

They specialize in shrub and species roses that
are own-rooted rather than grafted. They are chosen
for durability in the landscape, disease resistance, etc.
The selection of roses is spectacular... shrubs, climbers,
ramblers, floribundas, etc.
"Roses in the Southern Garden" and "The Guide to
Antique Roses" are two books from Mike Shoup
the founder.
They list Hardiness Zones with each cultivar. All roses
are in 2-gallon containers, for $16.95 each.
