Thanks, Susan....I tried that starroses site; couldn't find either of
the roses you mention. Catalog pages are so reduced I can't read the
text on them plus do not have time to look at each one to find a
specific plant and there doesn't seem to be a master list of plants
by name anywhere - well anywhere I could find it. If you have
anything to do with that web site, you might suggest they publish a
list of rose names linked to whatever page of info. they are
offering. Any suggestions for finding Rouge Royale and Frederic
Mistral on that site?

Great suggestion. ROUGE ROYALET sweet fragrance of fresh ripe
raspberries and sour citrus fills a room. Luscious burgundy to
raspberry
color, the old-fashioned European rose starts out with deep burgundy
red
buds opening to large, perfectly quartered, bright red raspberry
blooms
with 75 to 80 petals - a form reminiscent of the treasured Rosa
gallica.
An abundant bloomer, Rouge Royale produces one to two sturdy flowers
per
long stem that hold up well in rain and heat and are great for
cuttings
-- shelf life of up to two weeks in a vase. Hardy in zones 5-9. Go

Rue Royale from the Romantica series of Conard Pyle. I may have
spelled
Rue
incorrectly. I've had it in two gardens, and the fragrance is heady,
fruity
and much like raspberries.
